The Bigelow Institute for Consciousness Studies (BICS), founded by Robert Bigelow, launched a competition in 2021 to investigate life after death. The Bigelow Essay Contest offered $1.5 million in prize money for the best evidence-based essays on whether human consciousness survives physical death. We will be reading the winning essay Beyond The Brain by Jeffery Mishlove.  He won $500,000 for this entry.

I’m asking that participants read the first 26 pages and look at the embedded videos.  Be patient with yourselves as you read four pages on the various theories of where consciousness comes from.

This gives us a common foundation for discussion.  I will also be showing related information, research, and videos that we will discuss. Class size is limited to 24 because of the sound levels during group conversation.  My goal is to make this one of the best groups you've ever participated in.
