Join the Spare Studio for Art Unplugged: Upcycled Community Art Project. Collaborative, community-driven art relies on collective effort to transform ordinary elements into a single, cohesive piece. Utilizing upcycled materials, this workshop focuses on the concept of community assemblage—where individual, discarded components are reimagined and combined by many hands to create a shared artistic statement.
In this all-ages event, participants will work together to build a collaborative art piece designed specifically for The James. To maintain a sense of shared discovery, both the exact subject matter and the specific upcycled mediums will remain a surprise until the workshop begins. Regardless of age or artistic experience, everyone will be taught the necessary assembly techniques on-site, allowing every visitor to contribute their own distinct mark to a truly collective creation.
Art Unplugged is funded by a grant from the Levitate Foundation.
