This annual exhibition highlights a diverse range of contemporary artistic voices working in both two-dimensional and three-dimensional media. Open to artists across disciplines, the Spring Juried Show offers an opportunity for creative practitioners to share their work in a professional gallery setting while engaging with the broader South Shore arts community.
The 8th Annual Spring Juried Show is juried by Ellen Wineberg, a Boston-based artist, educator, curator, and cultural organizer dedicated to fostering community and artistic collaboration. She is the founder and director of Storefront Art Projects in Watertown, Massachusetts, an alternative gallery space celebrated as a local "cultural hot spot." In addition to Storefront Art Projects, Wineberg directs The Art Gallery at North Hill in Needham, utilizing both venues to champion regional talent by providing vital solo and group exhibition opportunities for local artists.
As a contemporary visual artist, Wineberg’s personal practice spans drawing, painting, mixed media, and sketchbooks. Her work has earned significant critical acclaim for its emotional depth and sophistication; the Boston Globe noted that her pieces capture "the light and dark sides of life," while other critics have praised her artistic voice as story-driven, sly, and entirely free of pretense.
A longtime fixture of the New England arts scene, Wineberg is a past member of the Bromfield Gallery and Randall Beck/Kelly Barrette. Her artwork is represented in numerous prestigious public, private, and corporate collections, including the Danforth Museum, the DeCordova Museum, the New Britain Museum of American Art, Simmons University, the Boston Public Library, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, and Fidelity Investments.
