Exhibition Dates: March 8, 2019 to April 13, 2019
Opening Reception: March 8, 2019 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm
Open to all mediums. All painting and drawing, media, sculpture, graphics, photography, ceramic, textiles, wood or metal work, and mixed media. *Works should generally not exceed 72 inches in any dimension or weigh more than 150 pounds. Works must be framed or otherwise ready for hanging/installation. Artists proposing to submit work requiring specialized installation should consult with staff before the entry deadline.
No pieces may have been shown or displayed previously at the James.
All works must be current and original, having been created within the last three years.
Artists or an assigned representative must submit works in person.
All work must be available for sale.
Large 2D pieces normally framed in glass that exceeds 48 inches in either direction must be framed using an acrylic glazing (such as Plexiglas) only. No clamped glass, cardboard, paste on or saw tooth hangers.
Due to safety concerns, any work found to not be suitably framed may be rejected from the exhibit with no refund of entry fee.

Beth Urdang, Owner of the Beth Urdang Gallery, Boston, Massachusetts
Beth Urdang Gallery is the owner of Boston’s leading exhibition galleries focusing on contemporary American paintings, works on paper and important secondary market works of the American Modernist period (1915-1945). Prior to opening the gallery on Newbury Street in Boston in 1989, Beth Urdang graduated with a BFA and MA in Painting and subsequently worked in NY as the Associate Director of the Zabriskie Gallery on 57th Street and the Director of Jeffrey Hoffeld & Co. on Madison Avenue from 1973-1984.
After 25 years on Newbury Street in Boston, the gallery has re-located to Boston’s SoWa Arts District at 460 Harrison Avenue in the South End. The Wellesley gallery continues to operate at 16 Grove Street.

March 4 — List of accepted works will be posted on The James Library & Center for the Arts’ website after 8pm.
March 5, 6, 7, and 8 — Pickup of all unaccepted work during normal business hours
March 8 — Opening night reception, 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm
April 13 — End of exhibit
April 15, 16, and 17 — Pickup of unsold artwork during normal business hours
*Artists will be charged a $5.00 fee for any work not picked up by April 18, 2019
The James Library & Center for the Arts will use care in the handling of all work, but in no way are responsible for any damage that may occur in moving or hanging art work as well as any loss or theft of artwork. Artists should obtain any necessary insurance.
The James Library & Center for the Arts reserves the right to reject any work which cannot be displayed in a safe and secure manner. (including poorly framed or wired work)
Any works accepted into the exhibition may be used for any marketing activities to advertise and promotes this exhibit and future exhibits. (Artist credits to be given)
I understand that the James Library & Center for the Arts requests a 35% donation/commission for any pieces sold during the run of the exhibit and a 10% donation/commission for any pieces that sell within 60 days after, as a result of being displayed in this exhibition.
