Books in Bloom
Literary works magically come to life at The James Library & Center for the Arts’ biennial benefit event Books in Bloom, a one-day-only showcase on Saturday, April 28, 10 am to 4 pm. Beloved books selected by thirty South Shore community members—school-aged to seniors—are depicted in original complementing floral artistic masterpieces. A raffle, on display starting Friday, April 20th through 3:30 the day of the event, raises funds and offers prizes including restaurant and landscaping gift certificates, locally made pottery, plants, herbs, flowers, and more. Presence not required to win.
Visitors are encouraged to purchase votes for $1 for their favorite display in support of the Library’s annual appeal, which helps maintain the building and funds music, art, and literary programming. First, second, and third place winners will be selected and announced at 3:30 pm the same day.
The exhibition is open to all ages, and light refreshments will be offered to guests.
